Fast Bundle Alternative

Short version: Fast Bundle was temporarily removed from the Shopify App Store on 18 July after a security incident, and reinstatement is in progress. If you can wait a few days, wait. If your revenue is bleeding right now, this page rebuilds your offers in AI Product Bundle Builder in about an hour, including the two settings that silently break most bundle migrations.

Do these three things first

Pause any ads pointing at bundle URLs. A broken offer page converts at zero and you're still paying for the clicks.

Check whether those URLs 404 or just load without the widget. If they 404, redirect them to the product or collection page so the traffic lands somewhere useful.

Open Discounts in your admin and remove any orphaned automatic discounts. Bundle apps leave these behind. A 20% off rule firing with no bundle attached to it is worse than no bundle at all.

What happened, briefly

Quick context, since not everyone landing here has the full picture. Fast Bundle's status page says a security attack was detected on 17 July 2026, and that Shopify temporarily removed the app on 18 July as a precaution, deactivating it for existing stores. Fast Bundle says no customer, store or shopper data was accessed, and its 23 July update said Shopify had verified the incident report with reinstatement in progress. We're not claiming a breach happened, because Fast Bundle says one didn't. It's a solid app with over 20,000 installs, and a precautionary removal during a security review isn't the same thing as an app being pulled for bad behaviour. If bundles are a small slice of your revenue, waiting it out is a perfectly reasonable call. Check their status page for the current position. The rest of this page is for merchants who can't wait.

Write down five things before you rebuild

Product pairings take five minutes to recreate. Discount logic is what actually breaks, and you won't notice until a customer reaches checkout.

For each bundle, record:

  • Type and discount value. Fixed, mix-and-match, volume tier, BOGO, gift with purchase, plus the exact discount.

  • Where it displayed. Product page, collection page, cart drawer. Everyone remembers their product page bundles and forgets the one on a collection page. That's the bundle that stays broken for a month.

  • Cart-level or line-item. If customers saw the discount appear at checkout rather than as a reduced price on each product, it's cart-level. This decides whether you need Cart Transform.

  • Minimum product counts. 1 for volume bundle, 2+ for any other type of bundle

  • Your plan, and any subscription products in a bundle. Two hard Shopify limits catch people here. Bundles that override a line's price at checkout need a Shopify Plus plan, so on Basic, Grow or Advanced that bundle type won't apply its discount no matter how it's configured. And Shopify rejects bundle operations entirely when a subscription selling plan is on the line, so a bundle containing a subscription product can't be rebuilt this way at all. Check both before you promise yourself a like-for-like migration.

The two settings that silently break everything

Both of these can look correct in your admin while nothing works on your storefront, and neither throws an error.

App Embed. Installing the app doesn't switch on its storefront embed. Go to Online Store, then Themes, then Customize, then App embeds, and turn AI Product Bundle Builder on. Skip it and your bundles are built, saved, correct in the backend, and invisible to every customer.

Cart Transform. If a bundle discounts automatically at checkout rather than per product, that logic runs through Shopify's Cart Transform function, and it has to be activated explicitly.

The second one is the dangerous one. A missing embed is obvious within thirty seconds because nothing renders. A missing Cart Transform means the bundle looks perfect on the product page, adds to cart normally, then charges full price at checkout. It looks like it's working right up until the moment it takes someone's money.

Rebuild, step by step

  1. Install, but switch nothing off. Install AI Product Bundle Builder and leave your old setup alone for now. Running two bundle apps briefly is fine. Running none is not. One caution if you use cart-level discounts: each app gets its own cart transform function and Shopify runs all of them, so if your old app comes back online while both are registered, two functions will be acting on the same cart lines. Keep the overlap short and test checkout during it.

  2. Turn on the App Embed and confirm it renders in theme preview before touching live settings.

  3. Rebuild your best two or three bundles first. Because the app reads your order history, some of your existing pairings will already appear in the suggestions. Accept those, then add what's missing.

  4. Activate Cart Transform if any bundle discounts at cart level, then test through a real checkout using a test code or a zero-value draft order.

  5. Test every bundle end to end. Product page, add to cart, price at checkout, inventory. Every one, not a sample. Pay particular attention to inventory if you fulfil from more than one location, since multi-location stock handling is the area we get the most questions about. Test a real order against the location that should actually fulfil it.

  6. Now uninstall the old app. Keep an eye on your storefront for a few days after, because uninstalls don't always clean up theme code.

  7. Come back in two weeks and see what the suggestion engine surfaced.

Where the AI part actually helps

Suggestions come from your real order history, not an industry template. The app reads what your customers actually buy together and proposes bundles around that. You accept, edit or ignore each one.

It isn't naming your bundles or writing your copy. What it removes is the part where you sit with a best-sellers report open in one tab and a bundle editor in the other, cross-referencing by hand every time you want to launch an offer.

Before you call it done

  • Theme is Online Store 2.0

  • Bundle logic documented, not just product lists

  • Orphaned discounts removed

  • Plan checked for any price-override bundle, subscription products ruled out

  • App Embed switched on

  • Cart Transform activated where needed

  • Every bundle tested through checkout before the old app comes off

Nearly every migration problem we see traces back to those middle two.

If you'd rather not do this yourself

Rebuilding fifteen bundles by hand at the end of a bad week is nobody's idea of a good time. Install AI Product Bundle Builder and email sachin@essenify.com with your store URL, and we'll get on a call and rebuild them with you. It usually takes about forty minutes and there's no charge for it.

A few things worth knowing before you click. We've been on the App Store since May 2020 and we carry the Built for Shopify badge, which is Shopify's own certification for performance, design and integration standards. There's a free plan that covers five bundles of each type, including the AI suggestions, so you can test the whole thing on a live store without paying anything. Paid plans start at $5.99 a month.

And the honest caveat: our app UI ships in English, French and German. If you're running a storefront in eight languages, check that works for you before you commit. We'd rather tell you now than after you've moved everything.
